Lost Cities is a strategic board game where players undertake expeditions, explore cities, and most importantly, earn points.
In the game, 5 expeditions are divided into 5 colors, to which the player must add cards of the appropriate color to earn points.
Each player has 8 cards in hand.
A player's turn consists of two parts:
1. Placing a card - the player either adds the card to the corresponding expedition or discards it on the game board, on the card of the corresponding expedition.
2. Drawing a card - the player draws a card either from the cards on the game board (takes the top card) or from the deck on the table.
Important considerations:
Cards are numbered from 2 to 10. Cards must be placed in ascending order. For example, if a player places a card with the number 9, they can only place a card with the number 10 after that.
The value of each expedition is -20 points. The player must exceed 20 points for their score to become positive.
There are handshake cards in the game, which double the score (two cards triple it, and so on). However, if the player cannot cover -20 points, then their negative points will be doubled. The handshake card has no number. Therefore, it must be placed at the initial stage. If a card is already placed with the expedition, then considering the principle of ascending order, since a lower card cannot be placed, the player can no longer place the handshake card.
For every expedition with which the player has placed 8 cards, the player receives a bonus of 20 points.
After three rounds, the results are summed up. Points, minus points, and bonus points are counted. The winner is the one with the most points.
